Alaska Peony Farms Brokerage Explained

Alaska Peony Farms (APF) is a brokerage that connects retail and wholesale customers with multiple Alaska peony producing farms through a centralized point-of-sale system. APF provides access to premium Alaskan peony inventory by coordinating sourcing, order placement, logistics support, and customer assistance in one platform.

Producing farms are identified by a farm code, such as “P23” for Producing Farm 23. Customers may select colors, varieties, quantities, and producing farms through the APF POS system. Selected items are placed in a virtual shopping cart, and checkout is completed through one payment.

  • Each producing farm receives the order, reserves the selected peonies, and holds them until the scheduled shipment date.

  • The producing farm will contact the buyer within 24 hours to confirm the order. If confirmation is not received, the buyer should contact APF so APF may follow up with the producing farm.

  • APF acts as a facilitator between the buyer and the producing farm; reserved orders and product fulfillment remain the responsibility of the designated producing farm.

Qualifying Customer Guidelines

APF serves both retail and wholesale customers. By becoming an APF customer, customers agree to follow the Purchasing Agreement, and APF's Terms and Conditions. Retail customers purchase peonies for personal use or small events. Wholesale customers are verified floral professionals, including wholesalers, retailers, and designers, who purchase peonies for resale or professional floral design use.

  • Retail pricing is shown by default in the APF POS system unless the customer has been verified and enrolled as a wholesale customer.

  • To access wholesale pricing, a customer must submit an electronic Wholesale Registration Form. Once the registration is verified, APF will enroll the business in the wholesale system and email a confirmation of wholesale enrollment into the wholesale POS.

  • Once enrolled, a wholesale customer may access the wholesale account through the unique link provided by APF website and the “Buy Now” button.

  • If an event requires immediate account activation or assistance, the customer may contact APF at 907-741-0204.

Purchasing Agreement

By clicking “Buy Now,” registering for a wholesale account, accessing the APF POS system, or placing an order through APF, the customer acknowledges that the customer has read, understood, and agreed to this Purchasing Agreement and the Terms and Conditions below.

Brokerage integrity and non-circumvention. Because APF helps customers identify and access multiple sources of Alaskan peonies, customers agree to continue using the APF point-of-sale system for all future purchases from farms introduced or connected through APF. Any purchase made directly from a farm introduced through APF, outside the APF platform, constitutes a violation of this agreement.

  • Minimum orders: A minimum of 25 stems per individual producing farm is required. A customer may purchase from more than one producing farm in a single order, but the 25-stem minimum applies separately to each farm.

    • Example of a multi-farm orders: If a customer orders from P2 and P23, the customer must order at least 25 stems from P2 and at least 25 stems from P23, for a minimum total of 50 stems.

  • Large orders and bid negotiation: For special orders of 1,000 stems or more, or for large orders requiring bid negotiation, the customer should contact APF directly. APF may facilitate a competitive bidding process among producing farms, and farms may accept bids or make counteroffers.

Pricing, availability, and volume discounts. Each producing farm sets its own prices, volume discounts, and inventory availability. Prices, discounts, and inventory may vary by farm and are subject to change. Some farms may offer volume discounts of up to 40% based on the number of stems purchased from that individual farm.

  • Volume discounts are calculated by individual producing farms and are not based on the cumulative total number of stems purchased from multiple farms.

  • Prices are listed in U.S. Dollars ($) and represent the domestic landed cost per stem, including processing, handling, and standard shipping fees for orders delivered within Alaska and the Continental U.S.

  • Additional fees apply for shipments to Hawaii, U.S. Territories, and Canada.

Orders outside the Continental United States must be arranged directly with APF. International orders require full payment at the time the order is placed by credit or debit card. Shipping must be individually arranged and coordinated, including through FedEx or delivery to the Anchorage International Air-Freight Airport. Buyers are responsible for all applicable phyto-sanitary inspections, customs requirements, customs fees, and any receiving-country restrictions.

Quality Guarantee

APF stands behind the quality of our Alaskan peony blooms. If an order does not meet APF’s quality and performance standards, the buyer must follow the procedure below to request assistance, replacement, or refund consideration.

  • APF quality standards: Blooms must arrive in good condition, open within 2–3 days, and maintain a vase life of at least four days. Orders with a shorter vase life are permitted only if negotiated with the brokerage and expressly requested by the buyer in writing.

  • Notification: The buyer must email both the producing farm and APF within 12 hours of delivery, or within the four-day vase life window if bud failure occurs during that period.

  • Evidence: The buyer must include at least three photos:

    • one image showing the full group of affected buds

    • additional images showing close-up evidence of poor quality upon arrival.

    • For partial quality issues, the buyer must provide evidence showing the damaged portion of the shipment.

  • Review and resolution: APF will work with the buyer and the producing farm to determine the cause of the problem. Based on clear evidence of poor bud quality, the producing farm will provide a partial or full replacement at no charge, or a partial or full refund, if the evidence indicates that poor quality peonies were shipped.

Terms and Conditions

Role of APF. APF acts as a facilitator and brokerage platform connecting customers with producing farms. All reserved orders and product fulfillment remain the responsibility of the designated producing farm, except for APF’s brokerage role and any APF payment portion that APF determines is warranted for refund.

Liability and hold harmless. The buyer agrees to hold Alaska Peony Farms and its parent company, Cool Cache Farms, LLC, harmless for any losses incurred due to purchase agreement failures by a specific producing farm. APF will work with the buyer and producing farm to help the parties reach an agreement.

Shipping damage and refunds. If the product quality was unsatisfactory when shipped, the producing farm will either replace the damaged or inferior buds at no charge or refund their value. APF will refund its portion of the payment if warranted.

By using the APF POS system, placing an order, or registering for wholesale access, the customer agrees to follow these Terms and Conditions, including the purchasing requirements, customer guidelines, non-circumvention obligation, quality guarantee procedure, and liability provisions stated above.
